Hong Kong College of Radiologists


Hong Kong College of Radiologists (HKCR) was incorporated in September 1991. The College is established with the objectives to encourage the study and advancement of the science and practice of radiology, as well as to maintain the good practice of radiology by ensuring the highest professional standards of competence and ethical integrity. It encompasses three specialties, namely Radiology, Clinical Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.

Singapore Radiological Society


The Singapore Radiological Society (SRS) was founded in 1977. It is the national society representing the interests of the radiological community in Singapore. The SRS has up various subsections which represent subspecialties such as Neuroradiology and Interventional Radiology. The SRS is dedicated to continuing medical education (CME). Activities include lectures and workshops conducted throughout the year. An annual scientific meeting is held in the first two months of the year. The SRS also organises regional and international conferences.

European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) and European Board of Nuclear Medicine (EBNM)


The European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) (www.uems.net) has existed for more than 50 years and is the political representative organisation for medical specialists in the European Union and associated countries. UEMS defined the basic principles in the field of training of European medical specialists to obtain a comparably high level of knowledge to allow free movement of specialists between member countries. Specialist Sections for each of the main disciplines practiced in the member states were created to coordinate and harmonise the specialist training and elaborate the criteria for the recognition of medical specialists. With successive enlargements of the European Union, the number of Specialist Sections gradually increased to 34. The UEMS created European "Boards", working groups of the Specialist Sections, to guarantee optimal care by bringing the training of medical specialists to the highest possible level in the specialty concerned.

The European Association of Nuclear Medicine


The European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) is the umbrella organisation of nuclear medicine in Europe and represents the sector towards the European Institutions. Within this role, the EANM aims at advancing science and education in nuclear medicine for the benefit of public health as well as at promoting and co-ordinating, throughout Europe and beyond, discussion and exchange of ideas and results relating to the diagnosis, treatment, research and prevention of diseases through the use of unsealed radioactive substances and the properties of stable nuclides in medicine. The goal of the EANM is thus to provide a suitable medium for the dissemination and discussion of the latest results in the field of nuclear medicine and related subjects.

International Society of Radiology


The International Society of Radiology (ISR) is a confederation of around 80 national radiological societies. Its mission is defined broadly as education in radiology, the advancement of the practice, radiation science and protection.

The Imaging of Tropical Diseases by Philip Palmer & Maurice Reeder DVD is available on the ISR website. The DVD was developed by the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, distributed jointly by the American College of Radiology, the RSNA, and the ISR. The College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia is a member society of the ISR.

Australian Institute of Ultrasound

The Radiation Safety Section (RSS),  University of Illinois


The Radiation Safety Section (RSS) within the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign is responsible for the development and oversight of a comprehensive radiation safety program to ensure the safe handling, transport, use, and disposal of radiological materials, lasers, and x-ray machines.
