Advances in Digital Imaging

The use of digital imaging is continuing to increase as well as expanding in the field of radiology. There is a great need for continued education so that all hospital specialists engaged in using or developing radiology computer systems can explore this new technology and be introduced to emerging ideas in this field.

This timely and highly educational book “Advances in Digital Imaging’ can be ordered from the Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.

This book records the full proceedings of Advances in Digital Imaging Symposium held in University Malaya Medical Centre on 8 April 2004. It is available for RM20 a copy excluding mailing charges.  The cheque for RM20.00 per copy is payable to “Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya”. Contact: Mr Shahrun Nizam, Radiology Department, UMMC. NEW! The Asian-Oceanian Textbook of Radiology

The Asian-Oceanian Textbook Of Radiology
More information about this work, including sample chapters, expert reviews and contents can be found at www.asianradiology.com. An excerpt of the Foreword by Professor Katayama is as follows:

“Our dream has come true with the publication of this inaugural edition of the Asian-Oceanian Textbook of Radiology. To my knowledge, radiologists and residents in the Asian-Oceanian region have, for a long time, been learning from and relying on textbooks with Anglo-Saxon origins. I am not saying they have serious problems. On the contrary, the fact is that those books are a source of good teaching material for us. However, at the same time, there is a strong need for a good radiology textbook, written by Asian-Oceanian radiology experts, for radiologists and residents in this region. We have our own radiology practices, diseases and medico-economical situations that are specific to Asian-Oceanian countries. For example, we see much more gastric cancers and hepatomas. In fact, we are recognised as leading performers in the diagnosis and treatment in these and other fields. “

Professor Hitoshi KATAYAMA, M.D.
Emeritus Professor, Juntendo University, Tokyo, Japan, Immediate Past President. Asian-Oceanian Society of Radiology
